Virtual Medic Demo Video for Wake AHEC
Virtual Heroes has released a new demo video for training software we developed for the Wake Area Health Education Center (AHEC). Wake AHEC provides educational programs and services for meeting North Carolina’s health workforce needs.
The application places students in a realistic trauma setting, an automobile accident. Students must determine the best strategy for actions such as assessing vital signs, treating injuries, and performing triage, based on key learning parameters. The trainer is based on our Combat Medic technology, funded by the Army Research Laboratory (ARL). The state-of-the-art training and simulation tool provides customizable learning modules in a 3D, collaborative virtual world accessible from any internet-connected computer. Combat Medic has been awarded a gold medal in the 2015 International Serious Play Competition and was a finalist in the 2014 I/ITSEC Serious Games Showcase & Challenge.
